Ben Cohn volunteered to drive a donated truck from Estonia to Kyiv as Ukraine fought to hold back the Russian advance. With U.S. support now uncertain, Ben is organizing a virtual screening event to rally aid, featuring a screening of his short film, a conversation with leaders of groups struggling to keep Ukraine equipped for defense, and donation opportunities for United Delivery Mission and Sabre Training and Advisory Group.
With Trump’s Betrayal, Private Assistance Can Avert Disaster
When Ben drove the truck from Estonia to Kyiv, Ukraine was battling to hold back the Russian advance. With US assistance now in doubt, private support is now a matter of life and death. Ben is a journalist based in Denver. His mission was his first trip to Ukraine. At the moment Trump and Vance ambushed Zelensky in the Oval Office, Ben determined to organize a virtual screening event that would create a new community of concern for supporting Ukraine. The event will include a virtual screening, a panel discussion and a chance to donate to the two organizations depicted in the film.
How Ticket Proceeds and Donations Will be Sent
Given the prevalence of fundraising scams, we want to be transparent on how the funds will be donated. Once we cover the base costs of hosting the event (cost of the Eventive platform and marketing budget, to be capped at $1500), all proceeds will be sent equally to UDM and Sabre. We offer direct donation links on this site and on the screening page for anyone who prefers to donate directly. A final accounting of our costs and donations will be sent to all ticket buyers and donors.

Do your part to keep Ukraine free.
The virtual event will give you a rare chance to gain a deep understanding of the current situation, direct from Kyiv and the front lines. You’ll see Ben’s short film about his drive from Estonia to Ukraine, featuring activists who will be on hand for the panel. The event will be on Eventive, the platform used by most major film festivals.
You can donate to the two organizations shown in the film at the screening. Or now.
Two Groups That Need Your Support

Event Details
What will the event include?
Our event is tentatively planned for May 8, 2025 – the same day that Ukraine commemorates the national holiday marking the nation’s victory over Nazi Germany at the end of World War II. The event will include a screening of the film (TRT 15 minutes) plus a panel discussion featuring some of the subjects of the films, other invited guests and filmmaker Ben Cohn.
What will be discussed?
Our conversation will focus on the role that private organizations have played in supporting Ukraine, and will role they are likely to play in the future. With the sharp reversal in US policy, private organizations are likely to play an ever-larger role than they have already.
How to attend and support the event?
To attend the event, we ask that you purchase tickets in advance on our screening platform, Eventive. At the same time, we encourage you to donate to the two private organizations featured in the film and described on this site. Donations can be made in advance, during the event, and in the days following the event.
